An NAEA membership delivers resources to help enrolled agents exceed professional standards and grow their tax expertise:

  • Continuing Education. Our National Tax Practice Institute (NTPI™) is the country’s premier educational event designed specifically for enrolled agents. Our instructors and our content is top notch and continually receives feedback from attendees that sets it apart from all other tax education. NAEA continues to expand the suite of educational products we offer our members, including webinars and the critically important EA Journal, which focuses on tax law updates and best practices.

  • Practical Resources.  Our weekly e-newsletter, E@lert, contains timely information on tax topics and changes to rules and legislation that can affect your practice. Business owners will find a huge repository of online tools to use to promote their practices and credentials. Finally, the Find a Tax Expert Directory is a public directory that helps potential clients find you. NAEA promotes the directory in local and national print and broadcast media.

  • Community. As an NAEA member, you have access to a national network of individuals who face the same challenges you do. Participate in Facebook or LinkedIn communities, or make a face-to-face connection at our National Conference. Or get involved in your State Affiliate at the local level and make an impact right where you live.

  • Advocacy and Government Relations. NAEA is the only organization that represents the unique needs of the EA profession. The federal tax climate is constantly evolving, and NAEA stands ready to help you navigate through any challenges you face as one of America’s Tax Experts®. Our focus includes:

    • EA Credential Act: Making sure EAs can use their federally granted credential in all states
    • Return preparer oversight: Leveling the playing field for tax pros and protecting taxpayers

    • Tax code stability: Providing individuals and businesses with an adequate planning horizon

    • Tax reform: Simplifying an increasingly frustrating and complex tax code

    • EA awareness: Making sure that legislators know and value your tax expertise.

    • EA support: Providing answers to your practical IRS related questions
